The map encompasses the entirety of Beijing, including sections of the Great Wall of China adjacent to the city and the city of Langfang (廊坊) to the south. This was done so that most of the areas lakes, rivers and creeks could be filled with game water. It has been compressed so that real world elevations of 48 meters equals to 15 meters in game. The map is 28 x 28 large city tiles and is accurately scaled based on DEM data. Today, it is a modern metropolis and a government, cultural and financial center and a major transportation hub. It is home to some of China's most popular historical sites, including the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace and the Great Wall of China. Historically, it served as a capital of both the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is the most populous national capital in the world, with a population of 22 million people. Beijing ('Northern Capital' in Chinese) is the capital of the People's Republic of China and the second largest city in China.
